Ike Northern
Director of Infectious Disease Testing

Ike Northern is the director of infectious disease testing and immunology at CompuNet Clinical Lab, where he oversees the microbiology, serology, and molecular departments. He is also a microbiology system specialist for Premier Health, responsible for standardization and consolidation of microbiology testing across the system.
Ike is an experienced college and university lecturer who has taught microbiology, immunology, and phlebotomy classes at University of Cincinnati, Wright State University, University of Dayton, Sinclair Community College, and Edison State Community College.
A member of the American Society of Microbiology and the South Central Association for Clinical Microbiology, he served on the organization’s board of directors, led the AFB/mycology interest group, and served as Ohio state director.
Ike has a Bachelor of Science in medical technology from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in microbiology and immunology from Wright State University. He also attended classes at Michigan State University, where he completed a certificate program in Molecular Diagnostics.
